PARK CLEAN UP
On May 5, 10/91 Foundation assisted the TrenchWorks Foundation in a clean up of McKenzie Park in Detroit. The park hasn’t been utilized in years and had become an eyesore to the community which it surrounds.
Littered with broken bottles and bullets we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. We removed abandoned tires, home improvement waste and metal poles that once held fencing to which no longer surrounds the park. We diligently worked from 8 am to 1 pm removing bags of trash, over grown shrubs and a dying tree. By the end of the day, with the help and support of various organizations and sponsors the park is now well into its first phase of rehabilitation.
Once completed, the park is tentatively set to be reintroduced to the community June 10th. With many repairs yet to come, we were happy to aide jumpstarting the process of making this park safer and useful for children again.
